The Korean production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical made its dazzling debut at Seoul’s Blue Square Theatre on 20 December 2022 in a licensed production by CJ ENM, introducing Korean audiences to the spectacular for the very first time. Playing 104 performances through to 5 March 2023, the production was met with extraordinary enthusiasm, performing to sold-out audiences and becoming one of the country’s biggest musical theatre successes of the year. The overwhelming response from audiences led to a triumphant return to Seoul’s Blue Square Theatre from 27 November 2025 to 22 February 2026, where the production once again captivated audiences and celebrated another successful season.
The Korean production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical was a replica of the North American Tour, with guidance from the original Broadway and Australian creative teams, ensuring the magic and energy of the show came to life in Seoul.
For the first time the production featured two interchanging casts: Team Elephant and Team Windmill, each bringing their own unique flair to our Moulin Rouge! The Musical’s iconic characters. We were thrilled by the incredible reception the production received in Seoul, including a special visit from Baz Luhrmann himself.
