The North American tour of Moulin Rouge! The Musical kicked off on 19 March 2022 at the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago, marking the beginning of an unforgettable journey across the continent.
As the first touring production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, it has been a thrill to jump from city to city, with each stop offering a unique experience, ranging from one-week engagements to two-month runs.
Travelling with 13 trucks and a dedicated team of 63, including 34 cast members, 18 crew, four managers, a physical therapist, and a merchandise manager, the production has touched over fifty cities across the United States and Canada. With over one thousand performances and counting, the journey of Moulin Rouge! The Musical continues to dazzle audiences across North America.
We’re excited to continue sharing the splendour and romance with even more cities across the region as we hit the road to new destinations each month!
FORESIGHT THEATRICAL
We partner with Foresight Theatrical, the general management team behind Broadway and the North American tour. Foresight was there from the beginning, providing expert guidance and unwavering support throughout the production’s evolution. They continue to manage the day-to-day operations, logistics and financial oversight. Their deep understanding of Broadway operations and collaborative spirit make them invaluable allies, and they have been a cornerstone of the musical’s international rollout and its ongoing success.

The Bohemian Project programme gives back to the community by supporting emerging artists, creatives, and local communities through industry development, community support, accessibility for people with disabilities, and expanding theatre access for underrepresented groups.
Over its four years touring, the North American company of Moulin Rouge! The Musical has delivered an extensive range of community engagement, outreach programs and fundraising initiatives across America, including:
The North American Tour of Moulin Rouge! The Musical actively supports industry development through nationwide workshops, masterclasses, and dedicated education programs like Get Musical! – Behind the Baton.
Get Musical! – Behind the Baton is an initiative that offers women and nonbinary people hands-on experience working in the orchestra pit of a Tony Award-winning musical.
The initiative was created in partnership with Austin Rivers, Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and Maestra Music, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting, elevating, and connecting women and non-binary musicians in the musical theatre industry. It aims to ignite passion, create pathways for the next generation of music directors and musicians, while fostering inclusion for women and nonbinary people who have historically been underrepresented in these spaces.
The program has already made a meaningful impact across the North American touring production, with participants from Toronto, Nashville, Louisville, and Richmond gaining invaluable behind-the-scenes experience. We’re excited that this six-month pilot has been extended, with future stops planned across the United States and on our Broadway production.
